Hello! I’m Gill Morris and talkingthailand is my blog. I live in the UK and I’m currently working as a Group Conference and Events Sales Executive at Hilton. In my free time, I love writing and taking photographs.
I love writing. I write blog posts and have written a book about Bangkok’s European Heritage. My second book – Flying Solo: A Woman on the Wings of Life – is about a period of my life where I stepped outside my comfort zone and went in search of answers that would change my life. This book recounts the chapters of my life, the people I met, and the lessons I learned along the way.

More About Me
I was born in Edinburgh, but spent most of my life in Northampton, England. I have 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 nephews and 1 niece. My parents are the most wonderful people I know.
I have been married twice, and found myself single at 37. Who said life begins at 40? It certainly did for me. I am happier now than I ever was before.
At 17, I was a model and one of my jobs was to promote fireworks. I got my photographs in the Daily Express and Torquay Times.
I was a fully qualified financial advisor, among other things, and have over 20 years customer service experience. In the UK, I ran my own Spanish delicatessen business, and a volunteering business in Thailand.
I love learning. I have a Bachelor of Science degree, and I’m always reading something. The older I get the more I want to learn.
I have travelled to Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, India, USA, Mexico and Greece, to name a few, and now I’m now back home after 10 years living in Thailand, but who knows where I will end up.
I have a secret passion for Bollywood.
I love wine.
I exercise most days. I love to run, swim, and work out in the gym.
Living abroad taught me that I don’t need all the material things that seemed important before.
I believe that you are never too old to do anything, you’ve just got to set your mind to it.
I would love to share my experiences with you, so come along for the ride as I turn the pages of the chapters in my life.
