My photo walk in August took me along Silom Road where there is usually plenty going on.

Attempts at panning. Some work, some don’t, but it’s fun to do
Panning is a photographic technique that combines a slow shutter speed with camera motion to create a sense of speed around a moving object. It is a way to keep your subject in focus while blurring your background.

These photos are a result of walking along with my camera at hip level, not looking at what I was photographing. A different way to take photos, but one that had me chuckling out loud all the way up the road.

Lovely photos of your walk…the temple is beautiful and so vibrant with its colours! What an interesting idea to take photos hip height…your view of the world from a child’s eye!
Thank you Annika! The photos from hip height aren’t the best but it was fun to do and that’s what it’s all about. That temple is one of my favourites just for the colour and the carvings on it. I hope you have a great day 🙂 xx

It’s always a constant job getting the exposure that you would like. and one I never know how to approach. 🙂
It is a full time job! I got work through Upwork but, unfortunately, the pay isn’t great. It is big work for little money but it allowed me to build up my portfolio of published work. I don’t have any writing jobs at the minute because I have my own personal projects that I am working on, so I don’t have time, I will pick it up again in the New Year 🙂
I did look at Upwork briefly but haven’t done anything with this platform.
There are many sites that want to you to re-write your content to fit into their platform style and sometimes link to your site, sometimes won’t. It’s double-work for me and at the moment, I just don’t have the time as I’m still building my replacement photography site intermittently. 🙂
Yes, as you said it’s a full time job. It is so time consuming to look at a publication and trawl through their back copies to, not only, get to know their style but, also, to see what they have published in the past. And that’s before you even start writing. However, there are so many writers out there that this is the first thing that we have to do if we want to be published. I found a company earlier this year that I submitted work to and I did 3 or 4 articles for them, but, unfortunately, they went bust before they paid me! But I think that’s the best thing, to find someone who is happy for you to write and will accept your articles rather than having more than one. That’s my preference but it’s finding them that’s the difficulty and Upwork seem to be just a content mill where people only offer a small fee for your work. Onwards and upwards so to speak! 😉 Good luck with your replacement site xx
That does sound like a lot of work for little in return…after all, we’re not a charity. Shame about the company going bust before paying you – what a pain.
Thanks, it’s been a little harder setting the self-hosted eCommerce site up than my WP blog site. Hooking a WooCommerce cart system for how I want it to display is tricky but I’ll persevere as I can’t afford Developer fees!
I’m also thinking about the advertising route for my blog site to make some passive income…not sure on that one yet. x
Yes, developer fees are a bit pricey but I think it’s best to try and work out how to do stuff yourself. We get to learn then, but sometimes when I have managed to do something, and then do it again much later, I forget how I did it LOL Upwork is useful sometimes! I was recently approached to do another project, so am working on that from today, so the jobs are out there you just have to search or hope that someone will find you! Another time consuming task! I thought about the advertising route and still have it on my to do list, but I know people who do this and the income isn’t huge, but again other people do make money from this! 🙂
I always do stuff myself but finding this site a tad harder as the support isn’t there. Typically I wait 2 or more days before I get an email, which slows everything right down. Ha, ha know what you mean about forgetting how to do things down the track…happens all the time!

Yeah, I’m in tow minds about the advertising as it’s pushed through anywhere on your site. Some adverts are really distracting also. 🙂
The project is about Bangkok but the company is in Dublin I believe 🙂 I hope you suss out things for your website, you’ll get there in the end! 🙂

Yeah me too, the support hasn’t been great so far although I paid for one year’s support. It seems that all companies send you to a forum to resolve issues yourself and take typically 2+ days to respond to your support ticket. 🙁
Thank you Nilla! That does sound like a pain. I hate those forums, it’s hard to find the answer sometimes and you can spend way too much time searching. Have you tried Youtube? I have found useful videos that are very helpful in trying to do something. 🙂
