A Photo Walk Around Amsterdam
Back in Amsterdam again in August last year, Chris & I had a grand day out. Here’s what we did – in photos.

I know we can’t go much further than our front doors at the moment, so I hope that these photo walks are a welcome change from all the doom and gloom. Stay safe people! Much love and peace x

I know I have told you this before, but can’t say it enough…your photos make me feel like I have been there!
Ah, thank you Kirt. I really appreciate you saying that! 🙂
I was in Amsterdam in 1971, so it’s probably a lot different now. We were only there a couple of days before we were off on our tour through Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France with a hop over to London for a day or so.
Thank you for stopping by! Your tour sounds great, I want to see more of Europe
I would like to visit Switzerland again and to go to Austria. I actually used some of my experience in Switzerland in my novel. I never dreamed when I was actually there that I would even write a novel let alone be able to use part of my trip in it.
That’s awesome! Travelling makes us creative I find. It is about your travels?
No, it is actually about my main character Beth who experiences several tragedies throughout the first part of her life and how she deals with them through her faith in Christ. But I have her travel to Switzerland after one of them to try to get her equilibrium back before she begins a new stage in her life. I was also able to use some description I recorded as I flew from Ontario to Alberta a number of years ago, the things I saw and imagined as I watched through the window of the plane. Of course, there are a number of side stories woven in to the main story as well.
Sounds interesting and it’s great when you can use your own experiences to bring into the story!
Great photos Gill. I was in Amsterdam once, my friend was getting married, so we got a ferry over there.
